Prepaid plans for national and international calls, SMS and mobile data
Information about the service:
Lyca Mobile’s prepaid mobile service allows you to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS and access mobile data.
We only offer prepaid plans, so you have no minimum commitment period and you don’t have to take any other services from us.
The default service is Pay As You Go account, where you top-up and only pay for what you use. Alternatively, you can use credit in your Lyca Mobile to pay for a plan where you get an allowance of minutes, texts and data to use in a month (30 days).
Monthly plan allowances expire at midnight 30 days from the day of purchase – which is counted as the first day – and are renewed for another 30 days if you have sufficient credit in your Lyca Mobile account to pay for the next month. You may choose to rollover your unused data allowance into the next 30-day validity period before your bundle expires
If you don’t have enough credit in your Lyca Mobile account to pay for the plan for the next month, your account will by default go to our Pay As You Go service for voice and SMS. Data won’t work unless you opt-in for Pay As You Go data usage – to do this, send ‘DATAIN’ to 2525 (free of charge). Once you send the text, you will receive a confirmation message stating ‘Your tariff plan change request has been successful’. Once this is confirmed, you can use data on with Pay As You Go. You must do this every time you revert to Pay As You Go.
If you have a monthly plan, we will notify you when you have used 50%, 80% and 100% of your data allowance.
You can move back to Pay As You Go from your monthly plan online via ‘Quick Recharge’ or ‘My Lyca Mobile’, or by calling Customer Services. You will only be eligible for a refund if you have not used any of your plan’s allowance, and you will lose any remaining plan allowances.
If you have a plan, you can carry forward your unused data allowance for the next month if you text ‘ROLLOVER’ to 2255 before the bundle expiry. We will send a confirmation SMS once the data has rolled over. Customer can purchase the bundle using USSD Dial *139*1029# and follow the instructions on the screen or SMS 1029 to 3535.

Terms & Conditions for SA Plans
Lyca Mobile National 29 Plan (“the offer”) inclusive allowances are for calls and texts from the SA to standard SA landline and other SA mobile numbers, and for mobile internet usage in SA. Other usage will be charged at standard rates. Allowances are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. Calls are rounded up to the nearest minute for the purpose of calculating remaining allowances. With effective from 15/05/18 customer may have up to 5 National 29 Plans active on their account during the 30 day validity period. Any remaining allowance after 30 days will not be carried over into the next 30 day period should the customer repurchase their bundle. In bundle data usage is rounded up and charged in 1KB increments. Once the data allowance of a bundle has been fully used, additional data usage will be charged at standard rate. Lyca Mobile reserves the right to replace or amend the offer or these terms & conditions or to withdraw the offer at any time with reasonable notice (7 Days). Note that promotional credit (credit which Lyca Mobile has given to customers for free) cannot be used towards purchasing a bundle. The offer is for non-commercial, private, personal use only – Lyca Mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the offer or to disconnect you if we suspect that offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, or if it is not being used in a handset (in a SIM box for example), if it is being used for tethering or if any reason Lyca Mobile reasonably suspects that you are not acting in accordance with this policy where we consider that the usage was illegitimate.
Please note: ½ hour before the renewal time of your bundle, the cost of the bundle will be reserved/frozen from your balance, to ensure auto-renewal will take place.

Acceptable Usage Policy
If the use of any bundle or plan that includes ‘unlimited’ calls or texts provided as part of the service exceeds the amount reasonably expected of a person using the service for personal purposes.
Fair Use Policy
All Lyca Mobile products, such as plans, are for personal non-commercial use only (see the relevant terms and conditions applicable for each product along with each product listed).
Personal use means reasonable use of our communication services, such as voice calls, SMS & data, to fulfil individual needs. Any other usage is prohibited.
The policy applies to:
Airtime allowances, which Lyca Mobile gives for free in the form of free calls, free SMS, free data, free credit or any other relevant means.
Services, where there is a fixed charge for the allotted usage of allowances such as bundles, plans, and add-ons for a defined period of time.
A Fair Use Policy is applied where:
Your usage on a promotion is unreasonable.
Your use of data services is non-consistent with other users, which would in turn affect the quality of service experience for the majority of customers.
Your usage of our services is for illegal activities.
Some of the unreasonable usage includes, but is not limited to:
Mass distribution of Lyca Mobile services to a large number of people. E.g. unauthorised SMS campaigns.
Re-distribution of Lyca Mobile services without our formal consent to make income.
If your excessive or unreasonable usage continues, Lyca Mobile may, without further warning, suspend or limit your service or even terminate your agreement in accordance with our general terms and conditions.
The offer is for non-commercial, private, personal use only – Lyca Mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the offer or to disconnect you if we suspect that the offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, or if it is being used for tethering.

A customer may only have one offer on their account and may not buy another during the 30 day validity period. Any remaining allowance after 30 days will not be carried over into the next 30 day period should the customer renew their bundle. Lyca Mobile reserves the right to replace or amend the offer, these terms and conditions or to withdraw the offer at any time on reasonable notice.
Note that promotional credit (credit which Lyca Mobile has given to customers for free) cannot be used towards purchasing a bundle.

Lyca Mobile National Plan (“the offer”) inclusive allowances are for calls and texts from the SA to standard SA landline and other SA mobile numbers, and for mobile internet usage in SA. Other usage will be charged at standard rates. Allowances are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. Calls are rounded up to the nearest minute for the purpose of calculating remaining allowances. Multiple bundle purchase: With effective from 15/05/18 customer can purchase any data bundle up to 5 times on their account during the 30 day validity period. Any remaining allowance after 30 days will not be carried over into the next 30 day period should the customer repurchase their bundle. In bundle data usage is rounded up and charged in 1KB increments. Once the data allowance of a bundle has been fully used, additional data usage will be charged at standard rate. Lyca Mobile reserves the right to replace or amend the offer or these terms & conditions or to withdraw the offer at any time with reasonable notice.
